Of course, like many of you, I have friends that are experienced in this hobby and they all wanted me to purchase the machine they thought was the best. I did plenty of research on the various machines through the internet and read a million reviews,

As a person being very new to paper crafts and card making, or better known as Scrapbooking, I have been quite skeptical about purchasing high dollar products that are intended to enhance your hobby skills and quality. I wanted to find an embossing or cutting machine that would be worth the money I spent on it but would not cost me a fortune in cartridges and possible maintenance.

Of course, like many of you, I have friends that are experienced in this hobby and they all wanted me to purchase the machine they thought was the best.  I did plenty of research on the various machines through the internet and read a million reviews, I even went to several stores and checked prices of the machine and folders or cartridges the various machines would need.  I finally made my purchase!  I am pleased to tell you all how happy I am that I purchased the Big Shot by Sixxiz.

This is one of the cheaper options but if you keep an eye on amazon you will notice that the $99.00 machine can be purchased for about $60.00.  It doesn't come with any folders or dies that are used to cut shapes, but these can be purchases inexpensively at your local Michaels or Joann's.  There are also many sites on line that offer these items for sale prices that will make them a steal.

The Big Shot is interchangeable with other brands folders as well.  All of the Cuttle bug brand items that I have purchased work nicely with my Big Shot.  The Big Shot is not a grand computerized machine, it is a simple set up where you stack your items and roll them through, similar to the way people rang out wet clothes before we were blessed with the washer and dryer.  There is no real effort and it takes no muscle to get the job done, you truly stack and roll the handle and it is done!!!

I have had more fun in the last few days trying different impression folders and embossing a variety of paper and card stock. I have cut my own envelopes for cards in literally 3 minutes or less, perfect envelopes! Now having this machine for a mer 3 days makes it hard to believe that this machine has already paid for itself but with the time saved and the accuracy from the machine I have no doubt.  The possibilities are endless, at least as I see it and the best for me is that I don't have to worry about high repair bills when the computer system has a problem. I am extremely happy with the purchase and would highly recommend this product to the first timer or the most experienced crafter or hobbyist.
